So I realized...

...that I'm not at all sure what exactly it is I'm doing with this blog. I guess that, when I started it, I expected to be more productive than I am in terms of creative endeavors. I guess I thought school wouldn't get too much in the way of that, which is hilarious. I guess I thought I'd be able to post more of my crocheted things here, but most of those are awfully mundane. (Striped scarves, anyone? No?) Really, I had a clearer idea of what I didn't want this blog to be. That is, I didn't want it to be about my life. Here's what you need to know about my life: it's boring, but that's ok, because I spend it with fantastic people. I'll spare you details. (Also, I didn't want it to be pretentious and self-indulgent, but I mentioned that already.)

Anyways, here are the lyrics to a song that I finished writing recently, which I guess is something I should post here. It's slightly romantic, slightly philosophical, and very, very silly.

It's called Armageddon Romance. Enjoy?

Verse 1:

I had a dream that the world was ending
I had a dream that the world was ending
That we were all to be consumed by great balls of fire

And in my dream that the world was ending
In my dream that the world was ending,
You came as fast as you could just to be by my side

And you confessed the things
I've always dreamed that I would hear
And as destruction dawned on us,
You held me oh so near
And in our arms, we forgot all of our fears

Chorus:

Why can't we live like the world is ending?

Verse 2:

In my dream where the world was ending,
In my dream where the world was ending,
I stroked your hair and kissed your beautiful face.

And in my dream where the world was ending,
In my dream where the world was ending,
You kissed my lips and we shared the sweetest embrace.

And before my roof caved in,
You whispered the sweetest words.
And everything around us
Shook, collapsed, and burned,
But we forgot completely where we were.

(Chorus)

Verse 3:

But if the world were really ending
If the world were really ending,
I have no idea where it is that you would be.

If the world were really ending
Yes, if the world were really ending,
I'd work on that hat and maybe see what was on TV.

Sure, I'd waste some time
Lamenting things I couldn't do.
But I'd just send my love
To everyone I could send it to.
In the end, that's all that I'm supposed to.

Final Chorus!:

I'm gonna live like the world is ending.
